Here are scholastic sport venues that you want to be at over the next few days

The scholastic ice hockey season is underway, and on Dec. 11, there will be an early-season showdown at Howell Ice World between Howell and Middletown North.

These two teams battled all season for the Shore Conference A North Division crown in 2014-15, with Howell winning by a single point. Both teams come into the game undefeated–– the Rebels, 2-0, and Lions, 3-0.

The winner of this game will have a leg-up in the division race.

On Dec. 13, unbeaten Jackson Memorial (1-0-1) takes on the perennial    state ice hockey power, Brick Township, at the Ocean Ice Palace in Brick in an A South Division meeting.

The combined team of Ocean Township/Shore Regional will look to put some distance between itself and the defending champion, Middletown South, when the two clubs play on Dec. 14 at the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall Township.

In the Greater Middlesex Conference, South Brunswick and Woodbridge tangle on Dec. 11 at ProSkate New Jersey in South Brunswick Township.

If you like bowling, Lakewood Lanes is the host to the South Jersey Singles Classic on Dec. 12.

If you like wrestling and can’t wait for the season to begin, there is a quad pre-season scrimmage at Howell High School on Dec. 12. Edison, Old Bridge, Point Pleasant Beach and Howell will hit the mats and take a good look at their wrestlers before the matches begin for good.

At South Brunswick High School, the Vikings welcome North Brunswick and New Brunswick for a wrestling scrimmage tri-meet on Dec. 12.

If you want to get an early peak at the girls’ high school basketball season, the perennial powerhouse, St. John Vianney, is playing the Patrick School in a scrimmage in Holmdel on Dec. 12.
