Places to be

 

Here are scholastic sports venues you will want to be at over the next few days. It is the holiday season and for high school basketball that means holiday tournaments galore.

For boys action, Red Bank Regional High School, Little Silver, hosts the Albert E. Martin Tournament on Dec. 27, 28 and 30.

Matawan Regional High School has the Huskies Classic on Dec. 27, 28 and 30.

Colonia High School hosts the LeGrand Haley Jubilee on Dec, 27, 29 and 30.

The annual Holiday Jubilee is at Neptune High School Dec. 26, 28 and 29.

For the girls, the Bayshore Classic is Dec. 27, 28 and 30 at Holmdel High School.

Long Branch High School holds the Lady Wave Tournament on Dec. 26, 28, 29.

The WOBM  Christmas Tournament at the Pine Belt Arena, Toms River, has boys and girls championship games on Dec. 30. On Dec. 28 the boys semifinals will be played. The girls semifinals are set for Dec. 29.

The Monroe Township High School Tournament also features boys and girls championships. The dates are Dec. 28 and 30.

New Egypt High School, Plumsted, hosts the Warrior Classic for boys and girls, Dec. 28 and 30.

The Shore Conference A Central Division wrestling championship could be decided as early as Dec. 30 when defending champion Raritan travels to Holmdel to take on St. John Vianney High School, which is expected to be the Rockets’ toughest challenger in the division. Raritan is seeking its sixth consecutive division title.

On Dec. 28, the Walter Woods Holiday Wrestling Tournament will take place at Middletown South High School.

The indoor track and field season is underway. On Dec. 26 at the Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex, Toms River, the annual Merli Invitational will be held.

For ice hockey fans, Old Bridge High School is hosting a tournament on Dec. 28-29 that includes 6-1 Woodbridge. Old Bridge’s home ice is the Old Bridge Ice Center, Route 516 at the Old Bridge Municipal Center.
