 The 2016 Junior Humanitarian contestants will host an indoor family winter festival from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Jack Aaronson Conference Center, Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W.  The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Freehold Township, is offering a series of workshops on Jewish Journaling, focusing on creating, keeping and enjoying personal journals with a Jewish touch.  Supporters of LADACIN Network will make a big splash to enhance the lives of infants, children and adults with disabilities at the eighth annual Polar Bear Plunge at Main Beach, Manasquan, on Jan. 16. The event will support LADACIN’s educational, therapeutic, social, residential and support services for more than 3,500 people with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays living in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Leggett’s Sand Bar & Restaurant will host the event once again. On-site registration will begin at Leggett’s at 10:30 a.m. The ocean plunge is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to participate.  The Shrewsbury Chorale will host open rehearsals from 7:45-10 p.m. Jan. 5 and Jan. 12 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft. Participants will be able to learn about the organization, meet the new guest conductor and audition for the chorale. Scores will be provided and there is no charge. The Shrewsbury Chorale, a mixed chorus serving audiences in Monmouth County, performs three yearly concerts that feature music ranging from classical to popular.
