LAWRENCE POLICE BLOTTER for the week of 1/8/16

Michael M. Barry, 29, of Brighton, Mass., was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, obstructed windshield, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, obstruction of the administration of law and resisting arrest after he was stopped by police in the parking lot of a Brunswick Pike business at 10:06 p.m. Jan. 4. Several callers reported that he was driving erratically on Brunswick Pike. 
Mohamed S. Selim, 25, of Pennington, and John A. Steffens, 20, of New Hope, Pa., were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police after a police officer stopped to investigate a suspicious car that was parked on Windwood Road at 1:45 a.m. Jan. 4. Mr. Selim was also charged with manufacturing, distributing or dispensing a controlled dangerous substance. 
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from a business on Lawrence Square Boulevard South between 3 a.m. and 3:03 a.m. Jan. 2. The burglar smashed a window to get inside. Police were alerted by a commercial burglar alarm signal at 3:06 a.m. 
The rear window of a car belonging to a Tudor Lane resident was damaged when a vandal tossed a rock through the window while the car was parked outside its owner’s home. The incident occurred between 11:55 p.m. Dec. 30 and 12:08 a.m. Dec. 31. 
Kavon Marshall, 21, of Lawrence Township, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle after police investigated a car that was parked facing the wrong way on Johnson Avenue at 8:08 p.m. Dec. 30. 
A Graf Avenue home was burglarized between 11:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 30, but nothing was reported missing. The burglar entered the house by smashing a window on the rear of the house. 

