EAST WINDSOR: Firefighter Bruce Cowper cited for outstanding achievement

East Windsor Volunteer firefighter Bruce Cowper

“If you’re going to do something, either do it right, or don’t do it at all,” is a familiar adage that is the current benchmark for an East Windsor volunteer firefighter.
Bruce Cowper, a member of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company 2, was recently singled out for earning the highest academic score – of all students – in the Firefighter I course held at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center.
He accepted an award for his outstanding achievement at a recent meeting of the County Fire Chief’s Association.
“It’s guys like Bruce who enter the fire service with a passion for excellence and with a dedication to selflessly help others,” said Company 2 Chief Steve Genthe. “He serves as a remarkable role model for firefighters everywhere and I’m very proud of him.”
Firefighter I class is the first of many courses that firefighters take in order to establish and maintain proficiency in the fire service.
Firefighter Cowper joined Company 2 last year. He lives in East Windsor and is employed in the packaging industry as a sales rep.
