HOPEWELL VALLEY: College students earn honors 


Meredith Megaffin of Hopewell was one of more than 930 graduates from the University of Kansas in the summer of 2015. She received a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies.

Astrid L. Hunter, a resident of Titusville, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Alfred (N.Y.) University. She is a sophomore art and design major. Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average to qualify.
A graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School, Hunter is the daughter of Richard and Nancy Hunter of Titusville.

Charlotte L. Healey, daughter of Susan Lyle and Peter Healey of Titusville, has achieved the fall semester dean’s list at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.
To be named, a student must have carried a course load of four or more graded credits and gained an average of 3.5 or higher.
Charlotte, a junior majoring in psychology, is a graduate of Stuart Country Day School.

Pennington resident Julia Ann Loesch was named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the fall semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Julia, scheduled to graduate in 2017, is majoring in communication studies.

Mackenzie Stricklin of Pennington has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Dickinson (Pa.) College.
Students must achieve a grade-point averages of 3.70 or higher. Mackenzie is a senior majoring in computer science with a minor in Russian. She has been selected as a Dickinson peer tutor and is also a writing associate in the Multilingual Writing Center.
