Esther Anderson Durst Gorski, 105, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born Feb. 1, 1910. She resided in Metuchen for 50 years.
Esther was buried beside her late husband, Chester Gorski, at Saint Gertude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Ceremonies were private.
Devoted daughter to Hannah and Charles Anderson, beloved sister to Alice Anderson Gatto, loving wife to Chester Gorski, Esther was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her grand-niece, Lorraine Naughton (John); her great-grand-nieces, Denise Schwemmer (Ray) and Doreen Creede (Kevin); her great-grand-nephew, Victor Gatto; and great-great-grand-nieces, Kelly and Kaitlin.
Esther was blessed with a positive nature and happy and full life.
For many years, she worked on Wall Street as a secretary and traveled the world. She also enjoyed time at home with her cat, Suzy, gardening, antiquing, music, television, deep-sea fishing and playing slot machines. Her 100th birthday wish was to go to a casino. Her family took her to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, where she had a grand time.
She will be dearly missed.
