Free rabies clinic scheduled by township for dogs and cats
Sat., Jan. 30 — The township-sponsored free rabies clinic for dogs and cats was rescheduled for today at the Department of Public Works garage, 21 E. Mountain Road, from 10 a.m. to noon. Cats should be in a secure carrier; dogs must be leashed.
Dr. Charles Schwirck of Red Bank Animal Hospital and Dr. Joe Martins of Belle Mead Animal Hospital have volunteered to administer shots. All dogs need to be licensed by Feb. 28. When applying, proof of valid vaccination must be given.
South Branch church offers roast pork dinner
Sat., Jan. 30 — A roast pork dinner at the South Branch Reformed Church, 870 River Road, was rescheduled for today from 4:30-7 p.m. Adults $15, or $6 for children 6-10. Children 5 and younger eat free. For reservations (not required, but recommended), call 908-369-4956. Takeouts will be available.
Library to show film, host speaker on Latinos
Sat., Jan. 30 — A viewing of episode 6, entitled “Peril and Promise,” of the “Latino Americans: 500 Years of History“ documentary will be followed by a discussion led by Carl Lindskoog, instructor of history at Raritan Valley Community College, in a program from 2-4 p.m. at the Manville library at 100 S. 10th Ave. This program has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
Reformed Church will host program of arias, show tunes
Sun., Jan. 31 — Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone will host operetta arias and songs from musicals in a program at 4 p.m. at the church at 1 Amwell Road. Featured will be tenor Jonathan Price, pianist Akiko Hosaki and soprano Lauren Athey-Janka. Suggested admission is $10.
Job seekers can learn about networking, LinkedIn
Wed., Feb. 3 — Terrence Seamon, an organizational learning and leadership development consultant, will talk about networking and the LinkedIn web site in a free program for job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change. Band parents collect used clothing, bedding
Sat., Feb. 6 — Hillsborough Band Parents Association, which supports the high school band and color guard programs, will collect used clothing and other items,10 a.m. to noon, at the front entrance to the school, 466 Raider Blvd. Clothing for all ages and seasons will be accepted in well-tied plastic bags. Bag shoes separately. Also accepted will be pocketbooks, belts, hats, gloves, ties, backpacks, briefcases, baby utensils, blankets and bedding, and hard and soft toys.

Garden club to hear about virtues of lavender
Thurs., Feb. 25 — Marie Voorhees from Hidden Spring Lavender Farm in Skillman will talk to the Neshanic Garden Club about growing lavender and its therapeutic uses at 9:45 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic Station.
