HOPEWELL TWP.: Give your thoughts on deer problems by Feb. 15

The Hopewell Township Deer Management Advisory Committee wants to hear residents’ observation about deer in their neighborhood.
The multi-disciplinary volunteer group of Hopewell Valley residents, including hunters, farmers, gardeners, friends of deer, ecologists and public health and law enforcement professionals, has posted an electronic questionnaire and are asking people to fill it out by Feb. 15.
Residents are asked to go to the Hopewell Township website at www.hopewelltwp.org and click on the link for the “Deer Survey Questionnaire.”
The questionnaire is a repeat of one that was completed in 2010, and aims to judge what, if any, impacts the township hunting program has had.
Deer populations are continuing to increase in Hopewell Valley and the Advisory Committee wants to have the community’s input on what, if anything, should be done about it, said a township press release.
The Advisory Committee has conducted several deer count that estimates deer are continuing to be at higher levels than are good for the environment. Are you happy with deer? Do you have problems with deer? Do you have questions about deer? Do you have suggestions about better deer management? The Hopewell Valley Deer Management Advisory Committee would like to know.
You can reach Hopewell Township Deer Management at 609-737-0612, ext. 643.
