The physicist from South Brunswick looks forward to finding evidence-based solutions to complex challenges facing each of the three committees.

“Whether we’re working to preserve clean air and water, uphold our residents’ civil rights or make it easier for people to communicate with one another, the Assembly can benefit from exploring and analyzing data and using the findings as the foundation for a better future,” said Zwicker (D-Hunterdon/Mercer/Middlesex/Somerset). “I appreciate the speaker’s confidence in my ability to influence the tough issues these committees take on, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on behalf of the people of New Jersey.”

Recently, working with technology sector leaders, Zwicker helped spearhead a novel public-private partnership focused on developing green energy. He also is well-experienced in business operations, having managed a $1 million annual budget and a diverse staff at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory over many years.

The Environment and Solid Waste Committee focuses on the protection of the natural and historic resources in the state, as well as the management of waste disposal and recycling. The Judiciary Committee oversees legislation dealing with capital punishment, civil justice, civil rights, court administration, crime and punishment, juvenile justice, criminal justice and the overall judicial system. The Telecommunications and Utilities Committee monitors all segments of the telecommunications and utilities industry in New Jersey and oversees issues affecting cable television, the Internet, public utilities, telecommunications technologies and the energy industry.
