Charles E. Gillar

Charles E. Gillar passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 27 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 59.

Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Old Bridge before moving to Spotswood 37 years ago.

He cherished his friends and family and loved boating, fishing and spending time with his son and grandchildren. Charlie loved helping others in need and will be missed dearly, forever.

Charlie worked for more than 20 years at Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Spotswood.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Elaine Wyckoff Gillar; his son, Charlie Gillar of Spotswood; his three daughters, Deborah Kohlhepp of Spotswood, Lisa White and her husband, James, and Tammy Epperly, all of North Carolina; his three brothers, Robert Gillar and his wife, Martha, of Old Bridge, James Gillar of East Brunswick and Raymond “Ricky” Gillar of Milltown; his three sisters, “twin sister” Barbara Hammond of Jackson, Sandy Foley and her husband, Anthony, of East Brunswick and Patricia Muncy and her husband, Jason, of Virginia; his six grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Louisiana, Dakota, Dallas and Daytona; his one great-granddaughter, Kaylee; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
