Band parents collect used clothing, bedding 
Sat., Feb. 6 — Hillsborough Band Parents Association, which supports the high school band and color guard programs, will collect used clothing and other items from 10 a.m. to noon at the front entrance to the high school, 466 Raider Blvd. Usable and wearable clothing for all ages and seasons will be accepted in well-tied plastic bags. Bag shoes separately.
Also accepted will be pocketbooks, belts, hats, gloves, ties, backpacks, briefcases, baby utensils, blankets and bedding, and hard and soft toys.
Church preschool will show its facilities, staff at open house 
Sat., Feb. 6 — South Branch Reformed Church Preschool will hold an open house from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the church at 870 River Road. People are invited to meet the staff, tour the facilities and learn about programs for the September 2016 term. Baseball team will serve pancakes at annual breakfast 
Sun., Feb. 7 — The Hillsborough High School baseball team will host its all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the municipal building on South Branch Road. Omelets, sausage, bagels, doughnuts. Tickets are $8 and will be available at the door. 
Woman’s club will hear Resource Center speaker 
Tues., Feb. 9 — The Woman’s Club of Hillsborough will hear a representative from the Resource Center for Women speak on teen dating and violence at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Hillsborough Municipal Building on South Branch Road.

Altar Rosary Society holds pierogi dinner at church 
Wed., Feb. 10 — Christ the Redeemer Altar Rosary Society sponsors a pierogi dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium of Sacred Heart Church, Filak and South Main streets, Manville. Tickets at door are $8 for adults, $4 for 8-year-olds and younger. For information, call 908-725-0072. 
St. Mary’s Catholic Church holds monthly Slavic dinner 
Wed., Feb. 10 — St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church holds its monthly dinner, 4 to 7 p.m., in the St. Mary Parish Center, 1900 Brooks Blvd. $14 for adults (ages 9 and up) and $5 for children (8 and younger). All-you-can-eat pirohi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes. A surprise entrée will be prepared by St. Mary’s chef John Pagano. Orders to go available. Garden club will hear how to deal with wildlife visitors in garden 
Thurs., Feb. 25 — Diana and Mark Dove of Dove Environmental Education will talk about wildlife garden visitors at the Neshanic Garden Club meeting at 9:45 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic Station.
The Doves will focus on wildlife species that venture into gardens, and how to react when coming in contact with them. This is a green program that includes information about how harmful litter is to wildlife and what we can do to make a difference.
Bring a bag lunch and lug your mug. Dessert and beverage only will be served at noon. Prospective members are encouraged to attend. For information about club meetings, contact club president Marion Nation at 908-359-6317. 
Continuing events 
Community theater — Somerset Valley Players presents “The Graduate,” directed by Matthew Muccigrossi, on weekends from Feb. 26 to March 13. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for senior citizens and students. The mature content and periods of brief nudity may not be suitable for all ages, so the show is recommended for those over the age of 17.

VFW meetings: Monthly meetings of Hillsborough VFW Post 8371 are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the county nutrition center, 339 South Branch Road. The post’s mission is to honor and help other veterans. All veterans with foreign service are welcome. For information about activities, contact Ron Miller at 908-369-5195.
Coping with addiction — Parents of Addicted Children helps parents understand and cope with drug problems they are facing, and will face, with their children. Meets first and third Monday of the month, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Neshanic Reformed Church, 715 Amwell Road.
Alzheimer’s support group — The Alzheimer’s Association has a support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support.
Meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Brookdale Hillsborough, 600 Auten Road. Call 908-431-1300 if attending.
Mothers of Preschoolers — MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays at the Fellowship Bible Church building, 109 New Amwell Road. Sponsored by Crossroads Community Church, it hears speakers, has a craft or project and lots of conversation and refreshment. Child care is provided. For information, see www.crossroadsnj.org/MOPS. Registration fee is required.
Divorce support group — A nondenominational support group to help separated and divorced people to a new beginning meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, Route 206 at Homestead Road. Call 908-295-6740. 
