North Brunswick residents can check eligibility for free cell phone service

Residents can find out if they are eligible for free cell phone service at a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon, Feb. 20, or from 2-4 p.m., March 5, at the North Brunswick Library, 880 Hermann Road, North Brunswick.

Safelink is a lifeline supported service that is a government benefit program. Only eligible persons may enroll.

To check eligibility, bring a photo ID and one proof of benefit from the following: EBT/SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, Section 8, SSI, LIHEAP, free school lunch, TANF or low income(SSA award letter, or unemployment)

This program is free and open to all.
