Library to host literacy event March 2

MIDDLETOWN — The Friends of the Middletown Township Public Library and the Middletown Lions Club will sponsor an interactive, literacy event from 4-7 p.m. March 2 at the Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown.

The free event, “A Celebration of the Wonderful World of Dr. Seuss,” celebrates Read Across America Day and will feature facilitated reading circles and activities, such as face painting, balloon designing and button making. Canine companions and their volunteer handlers will interact with the children and listen while Dr. Seuss stories are read aloud.

Music entertainment, snacks, beverages and dessert will be provided. For more information, call the library at 732-671-3700.
