OLD BRIDGE — Four local non-profit organizations received donations from advertisement proceeds made from the township magazine.
A total of $4,500 was divided into $1,500 checks for the township’s Camp ROBIN program, a community based, year-round therapeutic recreation program; the township Municipal Alliance; the Old Bridge, Sayreville and South Amboy Chamber of Commerce; and Families Against Addiction.
Three of the checks were presented to the organizations at a Township Council meeting on Feb. 8. The check for Families Against Addiction was presented at a recent Old Bridge Business Alliance meeting.
Mayor Owen Henry said Stephen Mamakas, executive officer of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, worked with Pat McGranaghan from Town Square Publications to put together the 2015-16 Old Bridge Township magazine.
“Our intentions were that any monies that the business alliance and the township would make off the magazine, we would give it right back to the community,” Henry said.
Mamakas said the magazine portrays aspects of the township such as the shore, the cover celebrating the 75th anniversary of Cheesequake State Park and the roar of the engines at Raceway Park.
“Town Square Publications got all the advertisers together,” he said.
Mamakas said the layouts and content for the magazine were provided by the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development to highlight and showcase the history, businesses and attractions in the township.
Mamakas thanked McGranaghan as well as Lynette King-Davis, senior vice president of marketing and public relations for Raritan Bay Medical Center for her continued support of the magazine and the township, as well as all the other businesses that had taken advertisement space in the magazine.
McGranaghan said when they are set to do the next magazine, he would like to work with the township and provide additional donations.
