Arts commission slates March events

The East Brunswick Arts Commission has scheduled its “March Arts Madness” series of events at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. Each program is free and will begin at 3 p.m.

On March 6, flutist Mary Schmidt, cellist Elizabeth Thompson and pianist Dr. Akiko Hosaki will perform musical selections by Ravel, Martinu, Piazolla and Poulenc.

On March 13, pianist Alina Kiryayeva will present the multimedia concert, “Moving Pictures,” which will consist of classical works featured in the “Looney Tunes” and “Tom and Jerry” cartoons and films, such as “Love Story” and “Twilight.”

On March 20, humorist Al Kustanowitz will present, “Israel Is a Funny Country,” a humorous look at Israeli culture.
