Phoenix Productions’ Rising Star Academy will hold a spring break intensive camp to rehearse and present a modestly full-scale production of “The Little Mermaid, Jr.,” the week of March 28 through April 1, Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm. This session provides an opportunity for performers ages 7-17 to learn from the same Director and Musical Director of Phoenix’s main stage production.

Rehearsals will be held at the Phoenix Performing Arts Center, 59 Chestnut Street, Red Bank. The camp will culminate in a performance of “The Little Mermaid, Jr.,” on April 1 at 7 p.m. in the Fuller Studio Theatre for family and friends. Three tickets per student will be included in the $340 tuition fee.

Placement auditions are required to participate in this fully costumed workshop production and are open to performers in grades 1-12. No prior experience is needed to audition. Registration is required prior to attending a placement audition. Placement audition dates will be announced.

The Rising Star’s cast is made up of principal and ensemble roles. Actors cast in a principal role will have speaking lines and/or solos. Actors in the ensemble sing and dance as part of a group but do not always have individual lines or solos.

The Rising Star Academy is an initiative of Phoenix Productions, the award-winning community theatre organization that has been producing large-scale Broadway musical revivals at the Count Basie Theatre for over 25 years. They are a non-profit organization based in Red Bank. For more information, visit www.phoenixredbank.com.
