Manalapan resident charged with assault

MANALAPAN – A woman who lives at Marianne Manor has been charged with aggravated assault as a result of her alleged involvement in an incident at the facility.

Marianne Manor, Route 33 east near Woodward Road, Manalapan, is a licensed residential healthcare facility operated by the state.

Officers responded to the Marianne Manor at 6:27 p.m. Feb. 2 for a report of one woman assaulting another woman. Police said an investigation determined that Sandtine Spicer, 35, who resides at Marianne Manor, allegedly assaulted a 40-year-old woman who also lives at Marianne Manor.

Police said the assault occurred with a broom and that the victim sustained injuries to her face, neck and arm. The victim was transported to CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, for treatment of her injuries.

Spicer was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Police said Spicer  had three outstanding warrants out of Neptune Township and Asbury Park totaling $2,250.00. Spicer was processed and transported to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, on $40,000 bail. Patrolman Matt Porricelli handled the arrest.

In another incident reported by police:

• On Feb. 5 at 3:15 p.m., Patrolman Matt Porricelli responded to Wegmans, Route 9, for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill. The officer was informed that on Feb. 4 at 1:48 p.m., a black male wearing a dark colored hat, a blue button-up shirt, khaki pants and tan work boots entered the store. He purchased $12.99 worth of merchandise with a $100 bill and received $87.01 in cash back. Police said the $100 bill was found and identified as a bleached $5 bill. Police noted that when holding the bill up to the light, a hologram of Abraham Lincoln’s face could be seen, as well as a bar code stating the word “five.” Surrounding police departments were notified of the incident.
