Five individuals have been charged with allegedly running a prostitution ring at a massage parlor in Plainsboro Township, including the owner who resides in Edison.
Among those charged on Feb. 12 were Yan Sipasseuth, 54, of Edison, who was identified as the owner of Zen Healthy Center; Siew Hong Tan, 52, of New York City, who was the transporter of the prostitutes; and Pintg Chen, 56, of Brooklyn, New York, according to a statement prepared by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Guy Armour of the Plainsboro Police Department.
Tan was charged with two counts of promoting prostitution. Sipasseuth and Chen each were charged with one count of promoting prostitution. Chen also was charged with one count of engaging in prostitution.
Also charged were two women who were accused of engaging in prostitution. Their names and ages have yet to be determined, according to officials.
During the investigation, police seized $8,000 in cash and bank accounts and a 2014 Land Rover that was used to transport prostitutes from New York to Plainsboro, the statement said.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Tim McMahon of the Plainsboro Police Department and Detective Ryan Tighe of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, as part of a statewide crackdown on human trafficking, according to officials.
