Cecilian club presents recital

The Cecilian Music Club recently presented its annual Cecilian Young Artist Competition Winners Recital at the Victoria Theater at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.

Students of Cecilian Club members must receive high scores during a rigorous audition process in order to perform in this concert, according to a press release.

Piano solos were performed by Ianna Arthur, Jacquelene Chen, Natalie Chow, Jenna Cooley, Melissa Cui, Jackie Eschbach, Melody Fu, Nicholas Gritz, Gracelynne Hao, Anna Hsu, Jeremy Hwang,  David Jiang,  Kevin Jin, Irene Koc, Jeffrey Koc, Jeremy  Li, Grace Liang.

And, Jennifer Liu, Cindy Liu, John Ngnyen, Elizabeth Pang, Andy Pei, Anya Pei, Brian Song, Emma Tian, Alan Wang, Christina Wang, Sarah Wang, Yuying Wang, Rachel Wu, George Yang, Elizabeth Yang, Karina Yang, Tienne Yu, Annie Zhao and Justin Zhong.

Piano duets were performed by Jake Cheng and Jeffrey Koc, Mia Huang and Kyle Huang, Anna Hsu and Cindy Liu, Emily Luo and Melinda Mao, Sarah Vicol and Megan Shanosky, Joshua Yi and Julie Ham, and Tienne Yu and Ashley Jiang.

Justin Ham, Julie Ham and Andrew Lee performed a piano trio.

Krystle DiCristofalo and Kristen Redding performed solo harp, and Julia Hu played a solo on the cello. David Winograd played tenor saxophone, accompanied by Aaron Cheng on piano. Sydney Thai played flute, accompanied by Alyssia Liu on piano. Evan Ng, Samantha Ho, Serena Hu and Abbey Zhu performed a flute quartet.

The teachers who prepared students for the recital were Jennifer Bao of East Brunswick, Yu Chen Chao of New York, Beth S. Chen of Marlboro, Gloria Chu of Peapack, Shou Ping Chiu of Jamaica Estates, N.Y., Ingrid J. Clarfield of Princeton, Yvonne Huang of Morris Plains.

And, Julia Lam of Bridgewater, Chiu-Tze Lin of Manalapan, Lillian Livingston of Manalapan, Marjorie Mollenauer of Colts Neck, Chia-Hsiu Wang of Parsippany, Yining Wang of Princeton, Wendy Wu of Warren, Stella Xu of Mahwah, Grace J. Yang of Princeton, and An-li Young of East Brunswick.
