HBO will debut its documentary, Becoming Mike Nichols, on Monday, Feb. 22 at 9 p.m. This is an intimate portrait of the great director in his final filmed appearance. Mike Nichols wowed movie and theatergoing audiences for more than six decades with a rich and deeply varied body of work. He won an Oscar, four Emmys, nine Tonys and a Grammy. Over his career he received 42 Academy Award nominations. Through his own words, we’ll learn of his storied beginnings, including directing two Neil Simon stage classics and his acclaimed feature film debut, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?, and its follow-up, The Graduate.

The casts of TV’s greatest comedies will appear in NBC’s special, Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows, airing on Sunday, Feb. 21 from 9 to 11 p.m. Stars of Cheers, Friends, Frasier, Taxi, The Big Bang Theory, Will & Grace, Mike & Molly, Two and a Half Men and others will celebrate the acclaimed director, who reaches 1,000 episodes on the new comedy Crowded. Burrows made his TV sitcom directing debut with a 1974 episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He has since collected 10 Emmy Awards for his work.

Smithsonian Channel will premiere its 4-part series Major League Legends on Monday, Febr. 29 at 8 p.m., with the remaining 3 parts airing over the following three Mondays at 8 p.m., as well. Week one will feature Hank Aaron as he discusses his upbringing in Mobile, Alabama and his continued challenges with bigotry and racism throughout his storied baseball career. Week two will feature Babe Ruth, detailing the complex origin story behind the game’s dominate figure, who literally rewrote the record books. Week three will feature Lou Gehrig, the epitome of integrity, honesty and dedication to family. The series finale features Ted Williams, who possessed one of the best batting eyes the game has ever known.
