A three-judge New Jersey appeals court ruled Wednesday against a group of local residents fighting the relocation of NJ Transit’s Dinky line, the latest in a string of defeats for the opponents.
Save the Dinky Inc. and others have been battling Princeton University and NJ Transit in court over relocating the terminus of the line 460 feet south. Princeton University needed the relocation to happen to accommodate its arts and transit project.
In a 19-page ruling, the appeals court said the relocation of the terminus and the station are “legally permitted.”
University attorney Jonathan I. Epstein said Wednesday that he hoped Wednesday’s ruling was the end of the long-running court battle that has gone on since 2011 and involved five different cases.
