Police search for armed robber who tied up two employees at Advanced Auto Parts

EAST BRUNSWICK – Police are seeking an armed robber who tied up two employees at Advanced Auto Parts on Route 18 on Feb. 18.

An unknown male entered the store around 8:49 p.m. wearing a ski mask and brandished a handgun, according to a statement prepared by the East Brunswick Police Department. The suspect allegedly took two employees into the office area and removed an undetermined amount of money from the safe. He then tied up the employees and fled the store in an unknown direction, police said. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was on foot or drove away in a vehicle. 

Neither employee was injured during the incident. No other customers or employees were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a light skinned Hispanic male, between the ages of 30-45 years old, approximately 5’9”, average build, black eyebrows and dark colored eyes. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark blue or purple hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and light brown boots. The suspect may also have a colored tattoo on the back of his left hand, police said.
