Y will recognize community supporters

The YMCA of Western Monmouth County, Freehold Township, will present its “Ports of Call” annual gala celebration on March 12 at the Battleground Country Club, Manalapan.

This year’s Honorees are David M. Salkin, author and township committeeman in Freehold Township, and attorney Kenneth L. Thomson, of the firm Mannino, Caliendo & Thomson, Freehold Borough.

“As an organization committed to strengthening community, the Y is honored to be able to provide financial assistance to the children and families of our community who cannot otherwise afford the vital services the Y provides,” said YMCA of Western Monmouth County President and CEO Cynthia Joy.

Festivities will include dinner, dancing to Mission Dance, auction items include Adele concert tickets, Broadway show tickets to “Kinky Boots,” Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center, a New York Mets at New York Yankees game, raffles and entertainment. Tickets are on sale now for $195 per person, according to a press release.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. 50/50 cash raffle tickets are on sale for $100 with three prizes – first prize, 35 percent of winning share up to $17,500; second prize, 10 percent of winning share up to $5,000; third prize, 5 percent of winning share up to $2,500. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Winners need not be present. All proceeds of the gala will benefit the YCares financial assistance program.
