The change of seasons can be challenging enough with regard to the elements, but you’ll want to take extra precaution if you’ll be motoring through Boston, which was named the U.S.’s worst city in which to drive in rain or snow, with Bostonians getting into accidents 157.7 percent more frequently than the national average. That’s according to the latest “Best Drivers Report” of 200 U.S. cities conducted by Allstate Insurance in Deerfield, Ili.

Other cities to avoid when the weather turns foul include: Worcester, Mass.; Baltimore, Md.; Washington, D.C.; and Springfield, Mass.

By contrast, Allstate says the safest city in which to drive in rain or snow is Kansas City, Kan., where motorists are 24.8 percent less likely than normal to be involved in a collision. Other safe bad weather havens for motorists include: Cape Coral, Fla.: Brownsville, Texas: Boise, Idaho; and Madison, Wis.
