Lori Pepenella has joined the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, Howell, as the director of community development. Pepenella will oversee Girl Scout special events in Monmouth and Ocean counties. She will also work closely with community partners to maximize sponsorship opportunities and grants. Pepenella was previously employed with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce as the destination marketing and communications director.
Bartley Healthcare’s owner and chief executive officer, Phil Scalo, has been elected to the American Healthcare Association Board of Governors. He will serve as the independent owner representative for 2015-16. With more than 30 years as a healthcare provider and attorney, Scalo will advocate for AHCA members and address the legal and political issues they face in the changing healthcare delivery system. Bartley Healthcare, which was founded in 1984, provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation and assisted living services for residents on its 25-acre campus in Jackson.
Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Jackson, has named the Rev. Victoria Pruner as its new pastor. Pruner is the former associate pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, where she ministered for 27 years. The Cornerstone Presbyterian Church is in the process of renovating the historic church at 569 Harmony Road, Jackson. Services are being held at the Christa McAuliffe Middle School, 35 South Hope Chapel Road, Jackson, at 10 a.m. every Sunday. The service is a blend of contemporary and traditional worship.
Thomas J. Kemly, president and CEO of Columbia Bank, announced that Josephine Moran, of Jackson, has been appointed executive vice president and director of retail banking. In her new position, Moran will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the bank’s retail banking strategies.
Prior to joining Columbia, Moran served as executive vice president and regional president at Santander Bank with responsibility for its branch network in the metro New York/New Jersey area.
“Josephine Moran brings to her new position extensive local retail banking experience,” Kemly said. “Josephine is a well-known figure in banking, business and community affairs, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes in New Jersey. She was also recently recognized as a ‘Top Woman in Business’ within the Staten Island market.”
