Stomp the Monster is a charitable organization that provides financial and other support to cancer patients, their families and caregivers during an individual’s fight with cancer.

The gala will feature gift baskets, silent auction items, a live auction, 50/50 and item raffles, dinner and live music. All proceeds from the gala will be distributed to individuals who are battling cancer and their families, according to the Stomp the Monster website.

Tickets may be purchased on the gala’s bidpal website. Individual tickets are $225. A table of 10 people is $2,000 and a table of 12 people is $2,400. The final day to purchase tickets to the event is March 6.

Sponsor packages, a portion of which are tax deductible, are available. Call 732-859-3149 information about becoming a sponsor of the gala.

According to Margie Grumet, last year’s gala raised a record $140,000.

Stomp the Monster was founded in 2010 by Seth Grumet of Marlboro, Margie’s husband, after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

While undergoing chemotherapy treatment, Grumet met cancer patients and learned that some people did not have the help and support they needed to assist them during their treatment. That is when Stomp the Monster was founded.

Grumet has been in remission since March 2014.

While Grumet was undergoing treatment, he spoke with Margie about hosting an annual gala. Margie took on her husband’s vision and the “Life is Sweet” gala was born.

“We have tried to make it bigger and better every year, but we try to keep it at the grassroots level,” Margie Grumet said. “We try to keep it a special night to celebrate life and to honor the people who are not with us because of this disease and demonstrate what we do as a charity. If you are attending you will leave feeling touched and motivated to help people who are going through something like that in their life. It defines who we are as a charity.”
