POLICE BLOTTER for the week of 3/4/16

The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated these reports through Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016. 
Officers responded to Windsor Nissan at 2:37 p.m. Feb. 18 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that someone stole a 2015 Nissan Murano from the parking lot between Jan. 13 and Feb. 18. The vehicle was valued at $44,115. 
Armando Castaneda, 27, of East Windsor, was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, being under the influence of drugs and contempt of court after being stopped on Dorchester Drive at 4:24 p.m. Feb. 19.
An officer observed an individual who was known to have outstanding warrants from Hamilton, Lawrence and East Windsor Townships exit the Krauszers Food Store. Further investigation revealed that the individual was in possession of a hypodermic needle and under the influence of drugs. Mr. Castaneda was arrested and detained on the combined bail of $789. 
Officers responded to Fairfield Road at 11:39 a.m. Feb. 20 for a report of a burglary and theft from an automobile. The victim reported that someone entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the vehicle registration and insurance card from the glove compartment. Additionally, someone cracked the vehicle’s windshield causing damage in the amount of $1,000. 
Matthew A. Maccloud, 23, of Howell, N.J., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped on Route 571 at 3:43 p.m. Feb. 20.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Route 571 when he observed a suspicious occupied vehicle parked in the Perkins parking lot. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Maccloud was arrested and later released pending court action. 
Shawn Boucher, 41, of Howell, N.J., was charged with DUI, refusing to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain and failure to exhibit registration card after being stopped on Route 130 at 2:26 a.m. Feb. 21.
An officer was on patrol on Route 130 in the area of Route 571 when he observed a vehicle driving erratically and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. Mr. Boucher was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action. 
Shameir D. Evans, 23, of Edgewater Park, N.J., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped on Route 130 at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 23.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Route 130 and Old Cranbury Road when he observed a vehicle with a headlight out and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Evans was arrested and later released pending court action.
