Amtrak employee killed along Northeast Corridor Line

NORTH BRUNSWICK – An Amtrak employee was fatally struck by a train traveling along the Northeast Corridor Line in the area of New Brunswick and North Brunswick on March 1.

New Jersey Transit Train 3808 was involved in the accident around 4:45 a.m., according to Craig Schulz of Amtrak Corporate Communications. There were no injuries to any passengers or crew members aboard the train, he said.

Northeast Corridor passengers traveling between Philadelphia and New York experienced delays of up to an hour.

The circumstances are currently under investigation, according to Schulz. The identity of the worker was not released as of press time.
