Old Bridge school celebrates ‘Sugar-Less Day to Prevent Tooth Decay’

OLD BRIDGE – In recognition of good oral health and hygiene practices, students at Cheesequake Elementary School in Old Bridge participated in the New Jersey Department of Health Children’s Oral Health Program “Sugar-Less Day to Prevent Tooth Decay” event on Feb. 24.

All fifth graders at the school took part in an interactive oral health education program conducted by dental hygiene staff, who emphasized the importance of brushing, flossing, regular dental visits and healthy food choices.

Students also participated in a themed poster contest. First- and second-place ribbons were awarded and students received a Certificate of Participation and oral healthcare kit.

The winners were Nikolas Tobia, first-place poster contest winner, and Hamdaan Ali, second-place poster contest winner.
