Matawan inviting participants to Memorial Day parade

The Borough of Matawan will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade at 2 p.m. May 29. All veterans and active members of the U.S. Armed Forces are invited to march in the parade.

Nominations are now being accepted for the selection of the parade’s grand marshall. Candidates need to be veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and residents of Matawan.

The parade will begin at St. Clements Church’s parking lot, continue along Route 79 and Main Street and end at Memorial Park, where there will be an official ceremony.

Individuals or groups interested in participating in the parade should contact Matawan Borough Recreation Director Daria Dieterle at 732-566-3898, ext. 130 or recreation@matawanborough.com.
