Marlboro offers choices for 2016 summer camps

MARLBORO – Multiple summer camps offered through the Marlboro Recreation Community Center and the Marlboro Swim Club are open for registration.

There are three options for summer camp offered through the Marlboro Recreation Department. Each camp runs Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A teen travel camp is for seventh and eighth grade students (during the 2015-16 school year). The five-week camp will visit water parks, amusement parks, sporting events, include tubing on the Delaware River and visits to the beach. The camp runs from June 27 to July 29.

The summer day camp and a theater camp run in two three-week sessions from June 27 to July 15 and from July 18 to Aug. 5. The day camp is for children who were in kindergarten through the sixth grade during the 2015-16 school year. The camp is held at Marlboro schools.

The theater camp is for children between the fourth and eighth grades during the 2015-16 school year. The camp is for children who may wish to pursue singing, dance and other styles of art, as well as for children why may want to pursue behind-the-scenes work such as lighting, sound and set design. Camp activities will take place at the Marlboro High School auditorium.

From Aug. 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be an additional week of camp known as H2O Week for kindergarten to sixth grade students. H2O Week is held at the Marlboro Aquatic Center and no prior camp participation is required. There are two half-day trips planned for this week of camp.

There are three camps available through the Marlboro Swim Club. The Swim Club Camp, Sports Camp and Activities Camp will run from June 27 through Aug. 12 from Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Swim Club Camp is for children ages 4 to 9 and will include daily activities such as recreational pool time, sports, arts and crafts, music and dance and various theme days.

The Sports Camp and Activities Camp is for children ages 8 to 12. Campers will have access to basketball courts, tennis courts, wall ball courts, soccer fields and baseball fields adjacent to the swim club for camp activities.

The Activities Camp will offer arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking, karaoke, music and dance, and “salon days.”
