SOMERVILLE: Man charged with possession of $21,560 worth of heroin, police say

William Brown, 59, of North Gaston Avenue, Somerville, was charged with possession of heroin after a three-week investigation regarding the distribution of heroin.
Detectives with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force executed a Superior Court search warrant for Mr. Brown’s residence on Thursday, March 17 at about 9:30 p.m.
Mr. Brown was found inside the residence, police said. The search resulted in the seizure of 2,156 folds of heroin — worth an estimated $21,560, police said — and $557 in cash, police said.
Mr. Brown was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin) with the intent to distribute, a second-degree crime. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail. 
