Millstone school budget goes in wrong direction

Date:

Share post:

The Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education has announced a budget increase that calls for what the board characterizes as a modest increase in property taxes (approximately $200 for the average homeowner), the first increase in five years.

Might I remind the board that school population has been flat during that time and that enrollment is now decreasing. I am looking forward to a decrease in property taxes by trimming the school budget.

Let’s stop looking for ways to perpetuate the bureaucracy and inflating school costs. A decrease in school property taxes is needed. The board is going in the wrong direction.
