Mater Dei student joins Future Docs program

Lisa Giangrande of Old Bridge has been nominated for The Congress of Future Medical Leaders.

A sophomore at Mater Dei Prep in Middletown, Lisa will join the honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research.

During the Congress, which will be held June 25-27 in Lowell, Massachusetts, Lisa will join students from across the country to hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners discuss leading medical research, to have Ivy League and top medical school deans talk about what to expect in medical school, to witness stories told by patients who are living medical miracles, to be inspired by fellow teen medical science prodigies and to learn about cutting-edge advances in medicine and medical technology.

Lisa was nominated to represent New Jersey by Dr. Robert Darling, medical director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Sciences based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
