Junior center fielder Chelsea Vena (St. John Vianney) broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single in the eighth and both junior left fielder Kelsey Kennedy (Bedford, New Hampshire) and senior catcher Jill Raia (Morristown-Beard School) had run-scoring doubles later in the inning as Bentley University rallied for a 7-3, eight-inning win over the College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference cross-division softball March 19 at Cathy Haker Field.

The Felician University men’s golf team opened the spring portion of its 2015-16 season with a season-best result, placing fourth out of eight schools at the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational, hosted by Dowling College Match 18-19 at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course.

Felician junior Justin Rasmus (Colonia) led the Felician contingent by tying for 11th place out of 50 competitors with a 7-over-par 151. On the second day of competition, Rasmus shot an even-par 72 on the 6,834-yard course — the best individual round by any Golden Falcon player this season.

Adelphi University sophomore Nicole Camera (Metuchen) and freshman Lauren Sandelier (Washington Township) were tabbed Northeast-10 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by the conference office March 14. The weekly awards are the first for the program this season, as the Panthers came off a 6-0 week in which they swept doubleheaders against New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Dowling College and Merrimack College.

Camera hit .500 for the Panthers over the six games, going 9-of-18 at the plate with five RBIs and seven runs scored. The sophomore was an integral part of nearly all of Adelphi’s victories on the week, as she had multiple hits in three of the four games vs. NYIT and Dowling, and hit her second home run of the season vs. Merrimack to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead in a game they eventually won, 4-3. She also picked up a win in the circle, as she pitched 2.2 innings in the second game vs. NYIT and struck out three batters, as the Panthers rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win, 5-3.
