A crowd of children and adults explore one of the Jackson Fire Department trucks on display during National Night Out Against Crime held at the Jackson Plaza shopping center on August 2. National Night Out Against Crime has been promoting an anti-drug and anti-crime message for 27 years while promoting local law enforcement and its duties to the people who are served by those agencies. Activities planned for National Night Out included demonstrations of firefighting equipment and first aid equipment, live music and games for children.

The Woodbridge Department of Public Works and the Department of Recreation will kick-off Youth Month with the annual Big Wheels Day on March 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodbridge Center Mall.

Youngsters of all ages can explore and pretend to drive all types of specialized vehicles, including Woodbridge Police Department vehicles and Fire Department trucks, emergency response vehicles, public works construction trucks, utility company service vehicles from PSE&G, Verizon and Elizabethtown Gas, U.S. Army vehicles from the Woodbridge National Guard, a specialized command vehicle from the New Jersey State Police, and a Woodbridge Township Office of Emergency Management vehicle.

The event is free. Visit the Township web page at www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us for more information.
