Exhibit shows how artists’ works have evolved

LINCROFT — The Monmouth Museum is currently exhibiting, “Artists Emerged: New Jersey Emerging Artists Series New Works,” through April 17 at Brookdale Community College’s campus at 765 Newman Springs Road.

The alumni exhibit features the new work of former artists from the New Jersey Emerging Artists Series and offers an inside glimpse into their evolution as artists since their first solo exhibition at the Monmouth Museum.

Artist and author, Alphonso Dunn, will be at the museum at 2 p.m. April 17 for a book signing and Q-and-A discussion of his new book, “Pen and Ink Drawing: A Simple Guide.”

On May 4 at 7 p.m., artists will discuss their new work, offer insights to artists entering the exhibition arena and share their personal stories with the audience.

Since 2007, the Monmouth Museum has presented the work of artists through its New Jersey Emerging Artists Series. Selected artists are guided through the exhibition process and provided promotional materials. Artists also give a talk, offering the public insight into their artistic process.
