Registration opens for youth canoeing program

The Navesink Maritime Heritage Association in Fair Haven is now accepting registrations for its River Rangers summer canoeing program for children age 10-14.

The weekly program will run from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Sessions will be held July 11-15, July 18-22, Aug. 1-5, Aug. 8-12 and Aug. 15-19.

Participants will learn boating and teamwork skills, make new friends and obtain an understanding of the local maritime environment and wildlife along the Navesink River.

The cost is $225 per child for one week. Children will be provided with a canoe, life vest, paddle and expert supervision. To learn more, contact myhumphreys@gmail.com. To register, visit www.navesinkmaritime.org/riverrangers.
