Felician University freshman Kaitlyn Buck has been elected the 2015-16 East Coast Conference (ECC) Women’s Bowling co-Rookie of the Year as selected by the coaches.

Buck, a 5-foot-2 left-hander, was a two-time recipient of the ECC Rookie of the Week award. Heading into the conference tournament, she had posted a 159.2 traditional game average and a Baker frame average of 18.65. She was named to the all-tournament team at the Golden Bear Classic, hosted by Kutztown University Feb. 12-14.

Buck shared the Rookie of the Year award with Jess Garzio of Kutztown.

“Kaitlyn has quickly grown into an elite bowler for our program,” Felician second-year head coach Andrew Toriello said in a prepared statement. “As our program’s first lefty, it did not take her much time to get acclimated to bowling at the collegiate level. She has stepped into roles that she wasn’t expecting and delivered at all the right moments. The growth she has shown in her first season can only make her stronger and more confident come the fall.”

Buck is a graduate of Howell High School, where she led the Rebels to multiple championships that included an NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group IV title.
