Millstone accident under investigation

MILLSTONE – The New Jersey State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Sweetmans Lane and Stillhouse Road and sent one person to a hospital on the afternoon of April 2.

A state police spokesman could not be reached to provide details of the incident.

According to a press release from the Millstone Township Fire Company, firefighters under the direction of Lt. Mike Maloney responded to the scene at 3:53 p.m. April 2 and found an overturned sport utility vehicle (SUV) with a passenger trapped inside.

MONOC paramedics and emergency medical services (EMS) responders from Millstone and neighboring Monroe Township also responded to the scene.

According to the press release, the SUV was on its roof when the emergency personnel arrived. No information was provided about the other vehicle that was involved in the collision.

The Millstone firefighters stabilized the SUV, removed the passenger door and cleared nearby tree branches. EMS workers, with assistance from firefighters, were able to free the passenger from the SUV, according to the press release.

No information about the injured passenger was provided and no information about the drivers of the two vehicles or any other passengers was provided in the press release. The injured individual was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
