Games that you can’t miss

The spring scholastic sports’ season is upon us–even if the weather feels more like the winter.

So bundle up and get out to visit these following sites that we highly recommend that you pay a call to over the next few days.

Woodbridge High School’s softball team will be participating in the multi-team Cougar Claslsic at Colonia High School on April 9.

Sayreville High School’s defending Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament softball champion will get an early test when the Bombers  travel to Edison to play J.P. Stevens on April 8.

Two baseball programs with championship pedigree are playing on April 9  when Freehold Township and Jackson Memorial meet in a non-division game in Freehold Township.

Rumson-Fair Haven’s girls’ lacrosse team, fresh off an important 10-8 victory over Mendham returns to Shore Conference action on April 9 travel to Tinton Falls to take on the Ranney School.

When Manalapan High School’s girls’ lacrosse team plays defending A North champion Wall Township on April 8, the Braves will find out if they are ready to compete for the division title this spring. The game will be at Manalapan High  School.

 

It’s just the first full week of play but, the April 9 A North Division game between the Christian Brothers Academy and Freehold Township boys’ lacrosse teams will have championship ramifications. The two teams shared the division title with Howell last spring. The game will be played on Freehold Township’s  home turf.

The St. Joseph of Metuchen’s boys’ lacrosse team plays Rutgers Prep in Somerset in an important non-conference game.

April is relay season for high school track and field teams and there are three traditional meets taking place on April 9.

Matawan High School will serve as the host to the Husky Relays, Metuchen High School offersthe Metuchen Relays and Princeton High School holds the Princeton Invitational.

Two of the best boys’ volleyball teams in the Greater Middlesex Conference will clash in an early-season showdown in Old Bridge when the host Knights play St. Joseph’s of Metuchen on April 7.
