The Storm
The Storm got its first win of the spring season, beating Battle of Monmouth’s Lady Revolution 2-1.
Early in the match, Mikayla Capasso, taking advantage of aggressive defensive positioning, placed a through ball to the flying Grace O’Leary, who the put the ball into the left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead. Minutes later with the Revolution on its heels, Payton Rupp found the same advantage guiding a ball into the box where Julia Gorajek delivered the 2-0 lead.
The game tightened up in the second half but Storm’s defensive core of Meg Regan, Lili Iavarone, Jessica Saldutti and Danielle Faup stifled chance after chance. The Revolution eventually managed one ball past Keeper Mary Kate Harnett, who played brilliantly throughout. 
U8 blue Dragons
The U8 Blue Dragons extended their winning streak, defeating the Hamilton Hawks 5-1.
Alexander Garcia scored on a fast break and then converted a rebound into another goal just before the whistle, giving the Dragons a two-goal lead at the half.
An own goal in the second half increased the score to 3-0. Sebastian Rincon netted the team’s fourth goal on an accurate feed from Alexander Garcia. Finally, a handball and a free kick put the Hawks on the board.
In the final minutes of the game, Alexander Garcia completed his hat-trick with the team’s final goal.
All three goalies, Ilias Bettendorf, Jayden Baffoe-Bonnie, and Dylan Stables, aggressively defended the net with multiple saves.
