The Main Street Theatre Company will hold open auditions for its upcoming production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” 7 p.m. May 15 and 16 at the Main Street Theatre, 3018 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville. Callbacks (by invitation only) are set for 7 p.m. May 18.
Individuals ages 14-23 (birthdates Aug. 13, 1992-July 14, 2002) are invited. Participation fee, which includes show T-shirt, is $75, payable at auditions. Those trying out should prepare 16 bars of a Broadway-style song and 16 bars of a modern pop song, bring sheet music, be prepared to dance, and wear proper footwear and loose-fitting clothing. A piano accompanist will be provided; an iPod dock will be available for those who prefer to use a prerecorded instrumental-music track. There will be no a-cappella auditions. Show dates will be Aug. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21.
