Monroe Fire Department cites car fire as ‘suspicious in nature’

MONROE – Monroe Township police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the area of Wyckoff’s Mills and Wyckoff’s Mills-Applegarth Road for a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames around 5:25 a.m. April 25.

Upon arrival by police, Applegarth Fire Department was on scene, extinguishing the fire, according to a statement prepared by the Monroe Township Police Department.

The 2015 Nissan Altima was completely damaged by the fire, according to officials. There were no occupants found in the vehicle.

Monroe Township Fire Department advised the cause of the fire, while unknown at this time, is suspicious in nature, police said.
