Trip set to Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty

The third and fourth grade students participated in the "Immigration Day" which included the many stations that took place at the real Ellis Island. Monmouth University teacher candidates served as the officers and doctors to learn how to execute a culminating activity to a unit of study.

The East Brunswick Human Relations Council will sponsor a May 22 trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

The bus will depart at 8:45 a.m. from the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. Return is planned for approximately 5 p.m. Participants, who will have about five hours to tour the Ellis Island Museum and the Statue (trip does not include a tour of the crown), should bring a snack or lunch to eat on the grounds of Ellis island or Liberty Island. Cost is $35 per person.
