After commuting more than 100 miles to and from work every day, Sid Garg was ready to live a little closer to the office. He was also ready to stop renting and to buy his own home. So it was no surprise that his eyes lit up when he first saw the signs for The Oaks at Cranbury, a new townhome community from K. Hovnanian Homes, New Jersey’’s largest homebuilder, located off of Route 130 on Friendship Road in South Brunswick Township.

““I used to pass Route 130 every day on my commute from Short Hills to Plainsboro,”” Garg explained. ““When I saw the signs for ‘new townhouses for sale’ and where they were located, only about five minutes from work, I was interested right away. The day they opened, I put my name on the VIP List. Then I reserved my home in 2014, before they even had a model. I knew this was where I wanted to be.””

While the location was pivotal for Garg, it wasn’’t the only reason he chose to buy at The Oaks at Cranbury. Like others, he was impressed with the design and size of the homes. The community offers a choice of four different townhomes, ranging from just under 2,000 to 2,400 square feet of luxurious living space, with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, attached garages, and distinctive features and finishes throughout. Designer kitchens feature beautifully crafted, furniture-quality cabinetry and granite countertops. Pricing, which is subject to change, begins from the upper-$400s.

Garg chose a Concordia model and moved into his new home in January of this year. “”I really like how it looks and feels like a single-family home,”” he shared. “”I’’ve been in a lot of townhomes where you walk in and it just feels like a tiny, congested townhome. But this is very spacious. I have a lot of windows and the set-up is very nice. It feels exactly like a single-family home.””

South Brunswick is one of central Jersey’’s most convenient and desirable locations and is ideal for commuters, as Garg can attest. “”It’’s a very prime location,”” he affirmed. “”It’’s next to the Turnpike and very close to a Park and Ride. It’’s also nice because I’’m now closer to my brother, who lives in Philadelphia. Instead of being over three hours away, now he’’s only about 45 minutes to an hour away.””

Located off of Route 130, The Oaks at Cranbury offers easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 1. As Sid noted, the community is also within walking distance of a large NJ Transit Park and Ride offering service to New York City. The NJ Transit Princeton Junction station is nearby, as well, and Newark Liberty International Airport is less than 35 miles away.

Homeowners will appreciate living so close to all the shops, restaurants and entertainment options in nearby Princeton and New Brunswick, as well as the opportunity to live in the South Brunswick school district. This year, New Jersey Family once again ranked the township on its annual list of the state’s “Best Towns for Families,” moving even higher on this year’’s list to place among the top 13 percent of all towns. The township has more than 20 developed parks, with picnic pavilions, trails, and athletic fields. There are lots of open space areas, contributing to a pleasing natural environment, including D & R Canal State Park, Cook Natural Area, Davidson’s Mill County Park, and Pigeon Swamp State Park. It’’s also an easy drive to the Jersey Shore.

Residents at The Oaks will also enjoy outstanding recreational and social amenities right in their own neighborhood, with a community pool and clubhouse to be located on site. ““I love to swim and work out, so I’’m looking forward to using the gym and clubhouse. I’’m a very social person, too, so it’’s going to be nice to be able to socialize, go to picnics, and things like that. In fact, we’’ve already had a lot of get-togethers and events, even before the clubhouse is done! Last weekend we had a Holi color festival in our community, with about 50 homeowners who brought their families and friends. There were about 150 people here! All of my neighbors already feel like friends.””

While Garg was not familiar with K. Hovnanian prior to buying at The Oaks, he did his homework. He checked top-tier builder’s’ rankings in the East Coast area and became well aware of the company’’s reputation for outstanding craftsmanship and its award-winning standards of homebuilding quality. ““When you’’re looking to buy a home, you want simply the best,”” he reflected. “”With K. Hovnanian, I knew I was buying the best brand. They have not compromised with quality at all.””

Garg was equally impressed with the sales team and community construction manager at The Oaks at Cranbury. ““I worked with Erika, Chris and Randy, and they were very good,”” he shared. ““They were very helpful, friendly and had really excellent communication skills, which was important to me as a first-time homeowner. I have a philosophy: ‘When you do something, do it right.’ And that’’s exactly what they did as a team. It was very good. This is my first house and it’’s been an excellent experience. Everything has lived up to my expectations and I’’m excited to say that today I am an owner and not a tenant anymore!””

Homes are selling quickly at The Oaks at Cranbury. To date, 148 homes have been sold – and with only 188 homes available in the community altogether, it’’s expected that the remaining homes will sell rapidly. Visit the community this spring while there are still prime opportunities available. Take a tour through the beautifully furnished and decorated models – and see why The Oaks at Cranbury has quickly become one of New Jersey’’s fastest-selling new communities. The sales office and models are open daily from 10 a.m.– to 6 p.m. and located at 31 McLean Terrace in South Brunswick.
