Memorial Day parade scheduled in Jackson

JACKSON -A parade to honor all of the Americans who lost their lives in service to the nation will begin at 10 a.m. May 30. This year’s event will be Jackson’s 57th annual Memorial Day parade.

The parade is sponsored by the Jackson Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 168. The parade will begin at Jackson Memorial High School, Don Connor Boulevard.

From the high school, the participants will travel north on Don Connor Boulevard and turn onto West Veterans Highway as they head toward the Jackson Justice Complex.

Once all of the participants have reached the justice complex, they will gather at the war memorial in front of the Jackson Police Department. A memorial service is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to noon, according to parade organizers.

Following the parade, hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments will be provided at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4703, 54 Magnolia Drive.
