SEA BRIGHT — The Borough Council once again put off the final decision on paid parking for the 2016 summer season.

The council was expected to pass a resolution during a May 12 special meeting, but after a lengthy discussion in executive session, the council opted to carry the resolution to the May 17 meeting. The council has been split in recent months in discussing both the need for paid parking and the ultimate implementation of the program.

The borough will also be facing a new challenge regarding paid parking as attorney Ron Gasiorowski indicated he will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of the Businesses of Sea Bright challenging the borough’s paid parking program based on a violation of the Public Trust Doctrine.
