Honorees will include Gregg, Debra, Ryan and Justin Terry who will receive JDRF’s Family of the Year award.

“Our family is truly humbled to receive this award as we’ve dedicated our lives to help JDRF find better treatments and a cure for type 1 diabetes. The medical advancements that we’ve experienced over the last 20 years — and in particular the improvement in the quality of life for our son, Ryan, who was diagnosed at age 4 and is now 24 years old — have been remarkable,” said Gregg Terry, owner and president of Educational Resource Systems.

JDRF will also honor Dr. Santosh Eapen and his pediatric endocrinology team from K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a Healthcare Hero Award that recognizes their shared commitment to serve patients’ needs.

“Dr. Eapen and his team are tremendous partners when it comes to serving our local type 1 diabetes community, and we enjoy working with them to address the non-medical needs of their patients,” said Jess Backofen, executive director of JDRF Central Jersey.

The event will feature live and silent auctions and entertainment by Brian Kirk & The Jirks. Individual tickets are $400, and sponsorships are available. For more information and volunteer opportunities, contact Teddi Bubnowski at JDRF Central Jersey at 732-945-1130 or visit www.jdrf.org.
